Side Project – The Kin

So this year I decided to give NaNoWriMo a spin. Born from that month long word sprint was the stand-alone novel ‘The Kin‘.  This was a nice break from my main focus for a little while and gave me some fresh perspectives on other characters.

‘The Kin‘ is the tale of Cal, a quiet mild mannered young man who lived contentedly in his village.  That is, until the day his home was wiped out in a monster attack.  Cal arrives in time to see his world destroyed as monster hunters stand causally discussing the carnage.

Anger and a lust for revenge claim Cal and he sets off on a journey to slay the beast that destroyed his family.  In order to do this however he must become one of the hated monster slayers, the Kin.  Their power is the only hope he has to get revenge, however it was they who stood by and chatted as they watched his family destroyed.

I’ll get a sample of this up soon. It’s a little raw for human consumption at this stage.
